What we Believe:

About The Bible

The Bible, as originally given, is the inspired, inerrant  and infallible Word of God.  It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and behaviour.

About God

There is One God revealed in three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

He is Our Creator - Our Redeemer and Our Coming King.

About The Church

The One Holy, Universal Church is The Body of Christ, to which all true believers belong.

About Jesus

The Lord Jesus Christ, God's incarnate Son, is fully God in that He is God in flesh - He is fully human in that He was born of a virgin making His humanity real and sinless.  He died on the cross as payment for our sin and was raised bodily from death confirming His claims of Deity and Substitution.  He is now seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High reigning over heaven and earth.

About Salvation

Sinful humanity is redeemed from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, once and for all time, of their representative and substitute, Jesus Christ, the only mediator between them and God.

Those who trust in Christ are pardoned from all their sin and accepted into God's holy presence  by virtue of the righteousness of Christ which is immediately and irrevocably accredited to them.  Such Justification is by faith alone in Christ alone through His sacrifice alone and comes as a pure act of grace from God and in no way is earned or deserved.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit makes the work of Christ effective in the individual believer bringing life from the dead and enabling them to turn to God engendering their trust in Christ.

The Holy Spirit, indwells the believer and seals him as God's own possession until the Day of Redemption.  His activity in the believer produces Christlikeness in character and behaviour and also  enables him to be a powerful witness to Christ's resurrection.  The Holy Spirit also works in the believer producing specific spiritual gifts that enable him to function within the Body of Christ.

About the Future

The Lord Jesus Christ will return in person, to judge everyone, to execute God's righteous condemnation to those who have not acknowledged the gracious redemption that is found In Christ Alone.

Terence Gregory - Elder

Terence Gregory has served as Pastor of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship Ystrad Rhondda since 1991.  Prior to moving to Ystrad, Terence was Pastor of Carmel Faith Mission in Merthyr where he served for 5 years.

A native of the Rhondda and having come to Christ as a young person he trained as a mechanical engineer and worked as an underground mechanic with the NCB for 10 years.  At the age of 30 Terence attended The South Wales Bible College in Barry and has been in Christian Ministry ever since.

Terence stood down from his position of Pastor at Easter 2023 and now concentrates on his Friday morning Bible school "Rejoicing In The Truth" and his weekly live stream, each Tuesday evening, as he  takes us through the Book of Ephesians. This can be accessed on our Facebook page. He also supports Paul as elder.

Terence has been married to Pauline since 1972 and has two grown up children [Matthew & David] and six grand children.

In his spare time you'll find him blowing the blues on his alto sax, tapping a rhythm on his Sonor drum kit or getting really frustrated while sitting on the terraces of The Cardiff City Stadium.

"Christians need to develop and maintain a strong confidence in The Bible. It is our only and unique authority!"

Terence.
>Sophie: Worship Leader and Part Of The Leadership Team

Sophie: Worship Leader and Part Of The Leadership Team

Sophie Gregory at 29 is almost a lifetime member of Emmanuel. She credits her time praising the Lord from a young age at Emmanuel for the development of her voice which resulted in her studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. After graduating from RWCMD in 2017 Sophie decided not to pursue a career as a professional singer and asked the then Pastor, Terence, to give her further study of the Word of God resulting in the opening of "Starting From Scratch" which continues today under its new name "Rejoicing in The Truth."

Sophie's involvement in the church has increased over the years to the present day where she leads the Worship and serves on the Leadership team.

Outside the church Sophie enjoys going to the Cinema, The Theatre and riding fast rollercoasters.

Her heart has always been fro the children of the world and she is currently undertaking her PGCE degree to become a Primary school teacher.

Sophie is a great asset to Emmanuel where her many God given gifts enhance the experience of each member as they attend.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as you teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
